Voyage and Marine Assurance Manager

Your Job

Koch Shipping, part of Koch Minerals & Trading, is seeking a Voyage and Marine Assurance Manager to directly support supply and trading activities involving physical movements of cargo over the water.

Our Team

This role will report to the Director of Operations and will be based in Houston, TX with a hybrid schedule. This role involves support of world-wide operations that operate continuously and in multiple time zones. Requires some availability for calls and emails outside office hours.

What You Will Do

Voyage Manager:
Optimize vessel and voyage performance.
Maintain voyage activity information relating to operations updates, voyage specific and other business processes involved with a ship voyage.
Interact with in-transit vessels as necessary to help achieve a desired voyage outcome.
Partner directly with traders, charterers, ship owners, scheduling personnel, and others to provide vessel and commercial operations expertise
Assess vessel and voyage attributes and risk associated with a specific vessel use.

Marine Assurance Manager:
Review and approve/deny proposed tankers for time and voyage charters based on vetting reports including ship condition, operating history, ship crew, sanctions compliance and other pertinent vetting information compiled by Koch analysts
Collaborate with Koch's dry bulk director of operations to manage the overall ship vetting capability
Manage Koch Shipping's SIRE inspection business with the assistance of the marine assurance analysts.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Minimum 5 years sea-going experience on tanker vessels.
Experience as a voyage manager of tanker vessels
Experience using technology particularly MS Office, Shipping Operation system

What Will Put You Ahead
Experience as ship captain or chief mate
Ship vetting experience
Experience with Veson VIP and Sedna systems
