VP, Capital Markets

Description

Merchants Capital is seeking a seasoned professional with over 5 years of experience in commercial real estate, CMBS, or other structured products markets to join our Capital Markets team. This role will focus on expanding our securitization and CRT platform at Merchants Capital and Merchants Bank of Indiana.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with senior leadership to guide the securitization process from inception to completion.
• Interface with management on balance sheet needs.
• Identify potential loans for transactions.
• Work with Capital Markets analysts to build out data tapes.
• Coordinate with third parties and internal stakeholders to complete due diligence, including: Legal, Accounting (internal and external), and Bond underwriters/distribution. 
• Liaise with internal asset management and loan officers to answer investor questions.
• Assist management in the marketing and distribution of securitizations.
• Contribute to the development of new securitizable products (e.g. Single Family Residential).
• Collaborate with Merchants Asset Management (NY Registered Investment Advisor). 

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in financial services. 
• Fund/Investment Management experience preferred. 
• Commercial Real Estate experience preferred. 
• Structured Products experience preferred. 
• Sales and Trading experience preferred. 
• Securitizations experience preferred.
