VP Commercial Lending

Role

Responsible for the overall operation of the Commercial Loan Department. The Vice President of Commercial Lending plays a pivotal role in driving our commercial loan portfolio growth and ensuring an exceptional experience for our members.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct daily business loan operations. May delegate portion of responsibilities when necessary, but may not delegate overall responsibility for results nor any portion of accountability.

• Responsible for approving, rejecting, and processing business loan applications; verifying applications for completeness; conducting credit investigations; determining value and status of collateral (if any); establishing a signature limit (if applicable); and documenting business loans as per company policy and procedures.

• Facilitate business relationships by seeking potential clients. Effectively explain business products and services. Cross-sell products and services when appropriate.

• Recommends staff for hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, training and development, and interpretation of credit union rules and policies for department personnel. Conduct all personnel functions in accordance with applicable statutes (e.g., EEO, OSHA, Fair Labor, etc.)

• Recommend business loans to be charged-off to the Delinquent Loan Committee. Assign business loan accounts to attorneys or collection agencies as needed. Maintain adequate records on charged-off accounts. Execute legal repossession of collateral securing a delinquent business loan; maintain this collateral while in the company's possession; and negotiate the sale of this collateral. Function as the company's representative while working with attorney's, small claims court, auto repossession companies, collection agencies, bankruptcy court, and customers.

• Remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments that may affect the operations function. Implement operations procedures that are in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Establish, maintain, and monitor policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Provide input for the development of department budget consistent with the strategic plan and overall budget. Implement and monitor the budgetary process for the department. Conduct financial analysis of services designed to maximize profits and broaden services.

• Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

EXPERIENCE - Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES - A college degree.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

The ability to motivate or influence senior level personnel, internally or externally, is a key component of the job, requiring a significant level of expertise, credibility, influence and trust. Proficiency in developing and delivering material presentations on complex topics can be important to fulfilling the responsibilities of the position. The inability to communicate at this level would disqualify the individual from being able to fulfill their job responsibilities.

Minimum Starting Wage: $145,459.93 (Negotiable based on experience)
