VP Finance
On-site, hands on position

This position is crucial for maintaining the financial health and strategic growth of the company. Seeking a candidate who not only possesses the technical skills but also aligns with the company’s culture and values.   Understanding of cost accounting and any prior experience implementing a cost accounting system is a strong plus.  This is a small team, so willingness to be in the detail as needed is essential. 

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Develop detailed reports and analyses to guide senior management and stakeholders in making informed decisions. This includes creating financial-status reports, cash flow projections, and profitability analyses.
  • Process Improvement: Lead efforts to enhance financial processes and controls. Implement best practices for budgeting, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
  • System Implementation: Oversee the completion and optimization of NetSuite to ensure it meets the company’s needs for comprehensive data and reporting.
  • Operational Metrics and Benchmarks: Develop and track metrics that support departmental and organizational goals, improving performance and efficiency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial compliance requirements. Maintain internal controls and safeguard assets.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: Oversee accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department leaders to refine budgeting processes and conduct variance analysis.
  • Inventory Management: Supervise the cycle inventory count process, ensuring accuracy in data and costing.



Requirements

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years in accounting with a proven track record in leadership roles. Experience in manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in NetSuite is highly desirable. Strong skills in financial data analysis, Excel, and project management are required.
  • Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of finance laws, accounting standards (GAAP), and tax regulations.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead a team, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and present financial information clearly.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background and hands-on experience in implementing and optimizing financial systems. They should be adept at developing operational metrics, improving processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Additionally, they should be able to work closely with senior management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations that drive the company’s success.
