Job Description - VP, Mergers & Acquisitions

POSITION SUMMARY:

The VP, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) is responsible for leading Regent’s M&A strategy and execution. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this individual will evaluate and execute acquisition and partnership opportunities that enhance Regent’s ambulatory surgery center (ASC) footprint and support the company’s long-term growth objectives. This role will collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the strategic and financial success of M&A initiatives, while also leading critical enterprise-wide strategic projects.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and oversee the full lifecycle of M&A transactions including financial and operational diligence, negotiation, and integration.
  • Partner with the CCO and senior leadership to define and execute strategic growth priorities.
  • Develop and present business cases, financial models, and integration plans to support informed decision-making.
  • Engage and manage external advisors such as bankers, legal counsel, and consultants.
  • Serve as the primary M&A representative in meetings with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and external partners. Lead cross-functional project teams and manage key strategic initiatives across departments.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations for leadership.
  • Support investor and board presentations related to growth strategy and strategic initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members; help scale internal M&A and strategy capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates, including but not limited to Regent’s Compliance Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategy consulting.
  • Demonstrated success leading transactions from start to finish.
  • Healthcare services experience strongly preferred.

Preferred

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or relevant advanced degree.
