Job Description - VP of Branch Experience

Primary Function

Manage the credit union's administrative and member service growth activities. This includes overseeing and directing branch offices. Develop business plans for each branch to reach strategic goals. Ensures quality member service is delivered through an omni-channel model while growing memberships and establishing a community presence in every market

  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all branch team members. Responsible for hiring, mentoring, developing performance, and the coordination of      training branch team members. 
  • Work directly with the strategic leadership team to identify industry trends, develop new resources for members, and execute strategy. 
  • Review and develop strategic plans for the department in conjunction with the overall strategic goals of the credit union
  • Work with compliance and risk to ensure internal controls are followed
  • Prepares budget and monitors progress throughout the year
  • Assist in the ongoing review and development of branch operations, which include planning, recommending, and implementing services and procedures 
  • Creates procedures for the branch and ensures procedures reflect external rules and regulations
  • Responsible for communication with all branch team members 
  • Supports operational needs in conjunction with the Operations team to support branch team members 
  • Develops and maintains a service-based model of advising members and providing appropriate recommendations to fit the member’s      needs 
  • Responds to complex or problematic member questions or      problems as appropriate and ensures the highest quality of member service satisfaction
  • Responsible for researching and responding to legal matters concerning members and collaboration with necessary partners 
  • Lead community involvement activities to develop community partnership 
  • Ensure a visible presence in the local communities. Promote the credit union through visible participation in business, chamber, community, SEGs, and charitable organizations and activities
  • Lead advisory-based team member program for each branch deepen member relationships 
  • Hold periodic team member meetings. Continuously review processes and recommend improvements, changes in procedures, or changes in      services or products. Keep team members up to date on trends and general credit union information
  • Prepare and disseminate communication pertaining to credit union trends, security issues, operations, regulations, and services to team members on a regular basis
  • Supports daily branch operations. Responsible for the management of branch cash and teller operations 
  • Monitor branch activity, including transaction volume, growth transactions, and errors
  • Provides written and verbal reports regarding branch operations, growth incentives, coaching and development, and retention planning 
  • Work with Learning and Development to assess the needs of team members 
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of leading other managers in a credit union or financial intuition branch environment

Education

  • A college degree in a business-related field

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of credit union regulations/policies/procedures
  • Must have the ability to make decisions and to supervise subordinates effectively including coaching and reinforcing member service and selling skills
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and think and act independently within guidelines and procedure limitations
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of managerial techniques and credit union philosophy

  • Sitting or standing at a workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Working on a computer throughout the day
  • Ability to listen and focus for long periods of time

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occassionally exposed to changes in climate and temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
