VP of Communications

The (VP) of Communications at Lemonade is a high-ranking executive position responsible for streamlining internal and external corporate communications. As a significant part of our public relations team, the individual in this role will direct communication planning, media relations, branding, and other promotional activities. We are seeking an experienced professional who is passionate about shaping and sending out our company's message to the world.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop, execute, and oversee the firm's communication strategy, ensuring a consistent and uniform company message.
• Shape, maintain, and manage the brand's image and position in the market.
• Collaborate with other departments like Marketing, HR, PR, and Business Development to develop communication strategies for internal and external purposes.
• Prepare and provide corporate communications like press releases, annual reports, speeches, and social media content.
• Manage crisis and emergency communications, handle press conferences and media requests efficiently.
• Analyze, interpret, and present results of communication initiatives to senior executives.

What you'll need to flourish:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. An advanced degree would be a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the communications field with proven leadership and management skills.
• Experience overseeing the development of an array of engaging content, including blog posts, press releases, and video content.
• Familiarity with the technologies and best practices for campaigns across multiple platforms.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strategic thinking and creativity.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage crisis situations, and meet deadlines.

Compensation:

The starting base range for this position is between $265,000 and $290,000 per year. Base pay is one component of Lemonade's total compensation package, which will also include equity in the form of RSUs, access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan with company match, robust PTO, parental leave, and more.
