Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development and Implementation: Develop and implement strategies for portfolio growth, product development, streamlined operations, and market adaptation to increase customer engagement. Lead the development and      implementation of consumer lending program policies and strategies.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee operational systems, processes, and procedures to maximize service levels by reducing unnecessary processes and enhancing communication. Ensure audit requests are fulfilled and recommendations from exams and audits are implemented. Collaborate with key stakeholders in executing strategic and operational activities. Exercise      management-level loan review and decision-making authority as needed.
  • Underwriting and Sales Functions: Oversee the underwriting and sales functions of the department. Ensure new or updated products meet organizational goals and involve relevant stakeholders. Develop the consumer loan portfolio balancing profitability and risk.
  • Leadership and Strategic Direction: Provide leadership and strategic direction across origination, processing, underwriting, and closing/funding. Work collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure accurate and timely loan processing and reporting.
  • Program Success: Drive program success by fostering a coaching and mentoring environment. Hold staff accountable to goals and work with managers and training resources to educate, measure, and reward staff.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and recommend changes to rates, risk models, underwriting standards, programs, policies, and procedures to achieve desired production levels and credit quality.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Substantial knowledge of consumer lending, including personal lines of credit, credit cards, auto lending programs, credit scoring, risk management, portfolio analysis, and product marketing.
  • Strong technology skills, leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate, influence, and hold others accountable.
  • High level of diplomacy, trust, and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to achieve results and maintain pace on strategic projects ensuring key deadlines are met.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to motivate or influence senior-level professionals, requiring significant influence and trust.
  • Strong written communication skills and a bias for action, bold thinking, and appropriate risk tolerance.
