A financial services company in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team as their new VP of Corporate Accounting.
Responsibilities:
The VP of Corporate Accounting will: Manage and mentor a team of two Accountants with their duties, including general accounting, financial reporting, and liquidity management Manage firm liquidity and prepare cash reporting package for presentation to Chief Financial Officer Review and enhance balance sheet reconciliations and ensure adequate support for all balance sheet accounts Responsible for the preparation and analysis of quarterly financial statements Improve, formalize, and help document processes related to the monthly close with the goal of shortening the days required Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: 7+ years of Accounting experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Experience with Accounting software Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Master's Degree CPA or parts passed Experience in a Leadership and/or Management role Previous experience in the Financial Services industry Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365
