VP of HHG Operations

About Our Client Our client is the dedicated Household Goods division of a prominent corporate relocation organization and a leading North American Van Lines agent. Operating a highly successful $14–$15 million HHG business, the company specializes primarily in COD and Military relocations. With robust corporate backing out of Massachusetts—including full HR support and a corporate VP of Sales—this division is seeking a senior operations leader to take the helm. In this executive role, you will report directly to the owner, inheriting an established leadership team and taking full operational command of the CT and RI markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the top executive for the Household Goods division, managing a $14–$15 million book of business and reporting directly to company ownership.

• Oversee all day-to-day operations across two primary locations in Rhode Island and Connecticut, taking full responsibility for two warehouses and a comprehensive hauling fleet.

• Lead the immediate reorientation and restructuring of the primary Rhode Island branch, stepping in to guide the team through a General Manager transition.

• Drive bottom-line profitability and operational efficiency within the COD and military relocation sectors.

• Collaborate closely with the Massachusetts-based corporate support teams, including HR and the overarching VP of Sales, to ensure seamless alignment across the organization's broader logistics and O&I divisions.

• Operate out of the primary Rhode Island office, setting the operational standard and driving cross-branch performance.

Key Experience & Skills Required

• A minimum of several years in a senior management or high-level General Manager role within the moving and storage industry.

• A heavily operations-focused background; while an understanding of sales is important, the core requirement is a proven track record of running physical moving operations, warehouses, and hauling fleets.

• Deep familiarity with major van line networks and systems, with experience as a North American Van Lines agent highly preferred.

• Strong operational expertise in COD and Military household goods relocations.

• Demonstrated financial acumen with the ability to manage a multi-location P&L and maximize profit sharing through bottom-line growth.

• Ability to work out of the primary Rhode Island office (a comprehensive relocation package is available for the right executive candidate).
