VP of Procurement (Crypto)

The VP of Procurement (Crypto) at Bitpay will be a strategic leader with strong commercial acumen, responsible for driving the company's procurement strategy and overseeing the purchasing activities related to cryptocurrency. The core duties and responsibilities include:

• Developing, leading and executing procurement strategies for all cryptocurrency purchases.
• Benchmarking traditional procurement strategies and tools against those in the cryptocurrency realm and adapting them for increased efficiency and performance.
• Identifying and managing the risks associated with cryptocurrency procurement and implementing effective control measures.
• Negotiating contracts, improving prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings by utilizing new suppliers.
• Contributing to the company's financial goals by effectively managing purchasing costs.
• Overseeing all activities related to procurement compliance, supplier management, and contract management.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• Advanced degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Certifications in Purchasing Management or Supply Chain are a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic procurement roles, with a preference for candidates who have a multi-year experience in cryptocurrency markets.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of successfully negotiating and managing significant contracts.
• In-depth knowledge of cryptocurrency markets, blockchain technology and relevant financial regulations. Familiarity with procurement systems and tools, including digital procurement platforms.
• Exceptional leadership skills with an ability to manage diverse teams, and set and achieve their strategic objectives.
