Job Summary:
The Vice President of Retail Sales is responsible for strategic merchandising and sales to North American home furnishing and omni-channel retailers for Standard Fiber. The primary objective of this role is to generate revenue at acceptable gross margins by increasing sales in the home textile sector, focusing primarily on bed and bath products. Additionally, this role offers opportunities to expand into other product categories based on the company’s offerings.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage direct account responsibilities, maintaining strong relationships and continuous communication to understand customer needs.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement sales strategies and oversee the allocation of resources to achieve targets.
Manage the preparation of sales and margin reports for executive leadership and adhere to company policies and regulations regarding proprietary information.
Personally oversee account relationships, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any issues promptly.
Focus on developing new business opportunities for targeted customers, increasing sales in the retail and e-commerce sectors.
Analyze the retail landscape, perform competitive shopping, and identify market opportunities to create curated assortments for customers.
Work closely with Product Development and Creative teams to develop unique products for both Standard Fiber brands and private label opportunities.
Collaborate with planning partners to manage customer inventory effectively.
Oversee production, operations, and logistics of customer orders, mitigating any issues that arise with cost efficiency in mind.
Bring new products and packaging to market in collaboration with strategic customer partners.
Align with executive leadership on strategic business development initiatives for accounts.
Work with Category Managers to achieve margin goals for customers.
Perform other tasks as assigned, supporting the overall objectives of Standard Fiber.
Qualifications:
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and offshore teams, suppliers, and customers.
Fundamental knowledge of home textiles and/or apparel.
Highly detail-oriented and organized.
Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Proactive in product development and preparation for customer meetings.
Travel is essential for account management, customer relationship development, and identifying market opportunities, up to 10-20% of the time, including travel for trade shows and markets.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or merchandising within the home textile or apparel industries. A degree in Textile Engineering, Design, or Fashion Merchandising is advantageous.
Minimum of 5 years of sales or merchandising experience in the home textile or apparel industries.
Experience working with importers or buying agencies is preferred.
Additional qualifications in Textile Engineering, Design, or Fashion Merchandising are advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to navigate office environments, including prolonged sitting periods.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; includes active participation in regular presentations and meetings.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
