Walmart Traffic Loader / Assembler

The Walmart Traffic Loader & Walmart Assembler position at Zak Designs works to load outgoing trucks, restock inventory in the Walmart warehouse, label cartons/pallets, and palletize products to customer specifications. In addition, this position works as a support function as the workload allows for other departments within the warehouse, such as Production, Shipping E-commerce, and Receiving.

Walmart Traffic Loader and Label Processor Duties:

• Stage orders in an efficient manner to keep the handling of pallets to a minimum.
• Ensure the accuracy of shipments being loaded nightly
• Ensure trucks are loaded in a safe & timely manner.
• Coordinate with the traffic office on carrier equipment needs.
• Applies PRO sticker information to pallets to ensure accurate delivery of shipments.
• Maintains a log of long-haul load information to prevent invalid demurrage charges.
• Sign all Bills of Lading (BOL) prior to carrier departure from the loading docks & ensure drivers sign appropriate copies of the BOL
• Prepares shipping labels.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of labels per prescribed shipping standards

Assembler Duties:

• Labeling cartons and palletizing products to customers’ specifications
• Shrink-wrapping pallets
• Performing first-line quality assurance inspections
• Annotating piece count on the packing slip, turning in completed paperwork for further processing, and performing other duties as required.
• Restocking inventory from outside warehouses to the Walmart warehouse

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, shipping documents, and memos. Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Be able to speak and understand simple sentences.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or limited variables.
