Job Description - Warehouse Associate, Forklift Certified

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for maintaining an accurate accounting of transactions and posting activity. Offloading and loading activities as directed, cycle counting, maintaining accurate inventory locations, and producing quality work through conformance to specification requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform shipping and receiving duties
Verify and keep accurate records on incoming and outgoing shipments
Prepare items for shipment including packing, wrapping, and moving materials
Determine appropriate method for shipment utilizing Nav software system
Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, record damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to notify them of damages and shortages
Count incoming and outgoing parts accurately
Affix shipping labels on packed cartons
Meet shipping deadlines to ensure customer satisfaction and service requirements
Operate a fork truck to lift, move or hoist materials from the shipping or receiving area to storage or work area
Ability to effectively perform similar functions on the floor at any point in time

Skills and Requirements:

1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment with a current forklift certification
Shipping and/or receiving experience with an operating knowledge of bill of lading, material shipping orders, packing slips, and other freight bills
Excellent attention to detail, being thorough in completing tasks, ability to detect problems and report information accordingly
Good written communication as appropriate for the needs of the audience, including reading comprehension to read and interpret documents
Computer proficiency with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based programs
Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable to fulfill obligations
Must be willing and able to practice adaptability, with a growth mindset and willingness to learn
Engage and support Cennox safety culture and efficient operation of the business and maintain positive working relationships with employees across the organization

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds
Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach freely
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to operate a forklift for extended periods of time
Must have good hand/eye coordination
Vision correctable to 20/20
Finger dexterity for use of applicable tools
