Position Summary

The Warehouse Cleaner / Facilities Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. This role focuses on warehouse floor cleanliness, waste removal, recycling management, and completing small facility improvement projects. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, task-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Warehouse Cleaning

• Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the warehouse throughout your shift
• Transport cardboard to balers and operate cardboard balers safely
• Sweep warehouse aisles, workstations, staging areas, and common warehouse spaces on a daily/weekly schedule
• Dust shelving, equipment, workstations, and designated warehouse areas
• Maintain cleanliness of dock areas and warehouse entrances
• Identify and address housekeeping concerns that could create safety hazards

Facility & Maintenance Support

• Complete small handyman and facility improvement projects
• Assemble or move warehouse fixtures, shelving, and equipment as needed
• Perform minor repairs and upkeep tasks
• Assist with warehouse organization projects and workspace improvements
• Support seasonal cleaning and special facility initiatives

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment guidelines
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment
• Report facility maintenance concerns to leadership
• Properly handle and dispose of waste and recyclable materials

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous warehouse, janitorial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks without constant supervision
• Comfortable operating cleaning equipment and cardboard balers (training provided)
• Basic handyman skills and experience using common hand tools preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs comfortably 
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment
