Warehouse Forklift Operator - Shepherd Trail Road PM Shift

* The warehouse forklift operator will be required to move between different warehouse locations within Berner Food & Beverage as needed to complete their work. The warehouse forklift operator must be comfortable and capable of operating forklifts at these multiple locations, and just not the single location at Sheppard Trail.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

:

• Inspect, and ensure all warehouse equipment is operational and following all safety requirements.

• Complete required safety training and follow all required safety procedures to perform assigned duties.

• Properly utilizes a warehouse management system and maintains appropriate work documents.

• Safely and accurately picks, wraps, counts, weighs inventories, or tags products and materials.

• Safely and accurately loads outbound freight; receives inbound loads.

• Accurately scan materials in and out of locations

• Can follow the warehouse scheduling board and work with the logistics team to maintain an accurate schedule and tracking of trailers and loading/unloading activities.

• Properly stages material within designated areas.

• Properly inspect trailers before loading or unloading freight

• Completes required cleaning and GMP-required standard work to maintain an audit-ready facility.

• Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality are job requirements.

• The ability to get along with others and non-violence is a job requirement to consistently promote a positive team environment.

Must be able to flex job requirements to the Baxter warehouse and/or Dakota plant in times of reduced workload to Shepherd Trail.

• Complete or assist in Bin Audits and/or Cycle Counts as needed.

Assist other employees in the performance of their assigned duties when necessary.

Conducts oneself and operates equipment and acts in accordance with all company policies, safety rules, regulations, and laws, including wearing proper personal protective equipment.

Conduct oneself in a positive professional manner at all times.

Education and Experience

:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• One year of warehouse or inventory control experience is preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Knowledge

:

•

Basic computer knowledge including word, excel, and ERP system

• Knowledge of warehouse operations.

• Principles, practices, and methods of inventory control

• Previous Forklift Experience Required - preferrable stand-up

Physical Demands / Work Environment

:

• Work is performed in a warehouse and some outdoor trailer/yard environments.

• Work activities include a normal range of motion. May be required to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 70 pounds.

• A full range of body motion is required on the job to include frequent sitting, bending, stooping, crouching, lifting, carrying, grasping, pinching, feeling, walking, standing, climbing, driving, pushing/pulling, handling, balancing, and reaching on all planes.

• Fine motor coordination, fine finger dexterity, manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination are required.

• Seeing (naturally or with correction), listening, hearing, talking, communicating, spatial, form and depth perception, color discrimination, and field vision is also needed.

• Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of legs, feet, arms, hands and fingers, and tools and equipment.

• May be exposed to excessive temperatures, noise, dirt/dust, hazardous chemicals, traffic hazards, variable light, vibration, and moving machinery or equipment.

• May be required to wear a protective hard hat, reflective clothing, earwear, eyewear, gloves, footwear, or other required protective attire.
