Job Description

Role and Activity

• Ensure shipping area is clean, always organized and operating under factory standards.

• Complete assigned Master Sanitation Schedule.

• Must perform work safely by leading by example, never walking past an unsafe condition and hold others accountable to working safe to ensure we achieve our goal of ZERO Incidents.

• Is expected to learn Dock Scheduler role for backup plan.

• Must become certified on a forklift in first 30 days.

• Ensure pallets are available for auto palletizing system. Sort pallets to ensure adequately good quality pallets are placed into palletizing system.

• Assist with hand palletizing on occasions when the auto palletizing system is down.

• Check condition of trailers/containers and record temperatures.

• Inspect each pallet of product for damage, missing product, ice/snow, proper wrap and pallet condition.

• Visually check each pallet for item code, pallet number, and case quantity.

• Determine based on product on order the best pattern to load the truck within CA state regulations.

• Complete shipment confirmation and generate bill of lading packet.

• Ensure effective hand over with the next shift, all watch outs and issues reported.

• Ensure health and safety requirements are fully met and a positive safety culture is maintained throughout the department.

• Ensure you walk the talk always using the safety, quality and productivity mindset, attend to the issues as and when they happen

• Promote the Froneri culture of employees being owners rather than just employees

• Following the principle of "will I do this to my home?"

• Ensure orders are completed according to the schedule to guarantee the product arrives at the right time in the right condition.

• Effective interaction with the team (palletizing, shipping, operation, maintenance, etc.)

Skills and Experience

• IMREX and SAP experience is preferred

• Forklift driving experience/certification is preferred

• Microsoft Office skills required (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)

• Ability to work autonomously/self-starter

• Ability to consistently achieve desired results, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, act decisively and set personal high standards

Role and Activity

• Maintain good housekeeping in all Dry Warehouse storage, receiving, and tempering areas (includes ambient and frozen receiving docks, ambient, 40 degree and -20 warehouse locations, flammable rooms, tempering and hot box areas, all staging areas and pallet transfer areas) forklifts, work carts, stretch wrap machines, conveyors, dock and floors.

• Receive, store and delivery all materials to the Production lines in a safe and efficient manner, operating under factory standards.

• Have the computer skills and aptitude to operate various warehouse management systems (SAP and RF) spreadsheets, word-processing documents, etc. Be able to receive the material systematically.

• Understand the process of Materials Warehousing. Know how to perform all job duties including receiving, storage, product transfers, shipping, picking, production schedules, returns, lot tracking, tempering/ thawing, cycle counting, SAP and RF system operation. Is expected to learn Line Runner, Receiver, TNT/Set up roles.

• Be flexible for shift change to support short staff or training plan.

• Accurately complete the Supplier Management Improvement (SMI) form.

• Properly fill out all paperwork needed for warehouse operation, including receiving log.

• Ensure that all packaging and raw materials are properly rotated on a First Expired First Out (FEFO) basis.

• Ensure that all materials received from vendors are properly received following all safety/quality warehouse operation procedures. Notify Quality and Receiving Coordinator of any truck delivery that is not up to standard (i.e. truck not clean, truck not at correct temperature, loads tipped or spilled, etc.)

• Complete assigned Master Sanitation Schedule, Cycle Count, Allergen Audit and Temperature check.

• Keep rack locations safe and usable, restacking or up righting any tipped pallets in racking. Always maintain safety requirements such as wearing fall protection harness.

• Collect, sort and organize pallets from Warehouse placing damaged pallets in pallet recycling area.

• Safely transfer pallets from wood to plastic using the Pallet Transfer System and/or forklifts.

• Be certified on safe operation of all Material Handling Equipment.

• Act with a sense of urgency to accomplish goals and tasks.

• You are responsible for your performance, efficiencies, waste, quality, safety, results.

• Ensure effective hand over with the next shift, all watch outs and issues reported.

• Know and understand department metrics of quality, reliability and safety.

• Follow, monitor and understand all GMP/HACCP/QA32.

• Keep waste to a minimum.

• Perform start-up safety inspection on forklifts.

• Report any and all damage immediately.

• Swipe in and out on time. Be at your work area as scheduled and on time to pre and post shift meetings.

• Stay focused at all times! Make timely decisions. Find root cause and solution to problems.

• Communicate with team and supervisor/manager. Keep them informed of any issues.

• Perform Allergen and Non Genetically Modified (NGM) segregation.

• Promote the Froneri culture of employees being owners rather than just employees.

• Train others as assigned.

• Perform other job duties as assigned.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The pay scale disclosed below has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay scale for employees currently in this role is $27.74 per hour. A good faith estimate of the range the company will pay for successful applicants for the current opening is $27.74 per hour.
