Job Description

Purpose and Scope:

A Warehouse Floor Lead is responsible for the loading and unloading of materials within our warehouse. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks and within the storage facility. Records flow information of materials and products and ensure accuracy. Manages a team and provides training for lower-level material handlers. 

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate leadership by supervising a team of 3 to 5.  
• Maintains warehouse inventory and floors in clean and orderly condition. 
• Loads and unloads material onto or off skids, pallets or trucks with forklift and other lifting devices. 
• Confers with warehouse manager and department heads, when appropriate, to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control and purchasing.  
• Stacks and arranges products and packs containers into crates, boxes, and cartons. 
•  Applies wrapping, labels and identifications as required. 
• Follows all required safety procedures and promotes a culture of safety awareness and ensures compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.   
• Serve as a point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders regarding warehouse operations, order status, and inventory availability. 
• Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve any supply chain issues proactively. 
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains within the warehouse operations.

Skills / Qualifications:

• High level of organization and attention to detail 
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work with deadlines in a busy, fast paced environment with minimal supervision. 
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public professionally. 
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. 

Job Competency / Qualifications

Education/ Training:

• · High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Technical Requirements:

• · Experience operating and maintaining warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks; valid forklift certification preferred. 
• · Understanding of safety regulations and ability to ensure compliance across all warehouse activities. 
• · Ability to analyze data and metrics related to warehouse performance and make recommendations for improvement. 
• · Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team. 

Experience:

• Minimum of two years’ experience with inventory record keeping methods. 
• Experience using safe warehousing procedures and practices. 
• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and other warehouse equipment.
