SUMMARY

Ensure the packaging, handling, and shipment of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Operate an industrial forklift to accomplish various materials handling assignment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibility of maintaining activities of transporting product, equipment, throughout the facility with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage.
• Ability to operate, safe operation, and the maintaining of forklifts.
• Communicates all pertinent information between departments and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information.
• Works with department warehousing, scheduling, process supplying, and product shipments.
• Assists and trains and/or coaching of all new operators as needed or required.
• Applies skills, methods to improve plant production.
• Inspects products to ensure compliance to standards.
• Contributes to maintaining quality and recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal efficiencies.
• Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, scanning, accident/near miss/hazard reporting and process control sheets.
• Assists with developing workflow. Is the primary supplier of feedback to the Supervisor level of leadership.

Shift:

Rotating 2-2-3 shift and overtime as needed.

Night shifts are from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 2+ years related experience driving a forklift, warehouse, material handling, or shipping and receiving and high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• The ability to work effectively with computers, including barcode scanners, warehouse management systems, AGV controls, tablets, apps, as well as company quality and training software. 
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a plus.

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus regularly.

Other Requirements:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must be at least 21 years of age in areas with legal regulations regarding the handling and proximity to alcohol.
