Job Description - Warehouse Maintenance Tech - Day Shift (M - Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM)

DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER:  Founded in 1901, Feeser's, Inc. is a family-owned and operated full-line food service distributor located in Harrisburg, PA, servicing the Mid-Atlantic region. Feeser's provides an expansive offering of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to a diverse customer base comprised of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and other institutions.
SUMMARY:  The Warehouse Maintenance Technician will provide hands-on support for all aspects of maintaining the facility and equipment for warehouse operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine and semiskilled tasks involving general maintenance of Feeser's facilities, equipment, and grounds.
Performing preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems (for example, replacing evaporative cooler pads, belts, pumps, air filters, etc.)
Making routine plumbing repairs (for example, repairing leaks, unplugging toilets and drains, etc.)
Dock door and dock plate repairs and maintenance; replacing light bulbs and fluorescent lights/ light fixtures, and making electrical related repairs (example: replacing electrical receptacles, etc.)
Performing routine carpentry work (minor paint jobs, installing doors, door stops, cabinet doors, tile, adjustable shelving, setting forms for concrete, etc.)
Making minor grounds and landscape irrigation repairs, grading dirt areas, and operating trenchers.
Assisting with major site renovations, new construction and special projects as assigned or required.
Review equipment write-ups and assign/prioritize repair
Computer literate in email, parts lists, and invoicing
Other duties as directed by the Warehouse Maintenance Supervisor and senior management.
Document time and materials used on work orders/request forms for assigned tasks completed. Challenge vendors as needed for all invoice inconsistencies or discrepancies.
Inspects work-related conditions to determine compliance with prescribed operating and safety standards. Distinguishes colors to repair electrical switches and outlets.
Detects natural gas leaks, smoke, and pesticides. Operates a truck and other equipment requiring a standard Driver's License to travel to and from work sites.
Uses equipment and tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, saws, trenchers, augers, and other tools commonly used to maintain facilities and associated equipment. Installs and replaces filters, belts, and cooler motors to make repairs and perform preventive maintenance.
Moves objects (for example, refrigerators, coolers, furniture, etc.) weighing up to 150 lbs. using a hand truck or other approved means.
Cleans work area and equipment such as the maintenance shop, work site, and various hand tools.
Perform after-hours emergency call-out repairs, security checks/verifications, and others as assigned.
Meets scheduling and attendance requirements.
Comprehends written materials.
Understands and interprets blueprints and schematic drawings to assist in making plumbing and electrical repairs.
Learns and performs assigned tasks quickly and correctly through on-the-job training and educational opportunities.
Learns safety regulations and practices safety precautions per industry and OSHA guidelines.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
Deal courteously with customers, vendors, and the public.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Mechanically inclined
Ability to read schematics and parts diagrams
Microsoft Office
Understands and follows verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge of using and caring for commonly used equipment and tools and basic and semiskilled facility maintenance repair tasks.
Read and interpret blueprints and other work diagrams with the assistance of skilled tradespeople as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of forklift mechanical experience (Minimum one year)
Experienced in AC/DC electrical circuitry
Computer experience (Office 365 and Windows preferred)
Negotiating skills
Ability to read schematics and parts diagrams
Owner of basic mechanical tools preferred. More technical tools will be provided.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have good hand/finger dexterity to perform intricate tasks
Ability to sit/walk/stand for up to 8 hours per day
Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Works with cleaning fluids, agents, chemicals, and paints using normal, routine, and protective equipment to complete work and maintain facilities and equipment.
Works in a variety of weather conditions while performing work.
Works in small, cramped areas while performing facility maintenance/repairs.
Works at elevations greater than ten feet while repairing or maintaining building structures (for example, roof repairs, etc.) and equipment (for example, evaporative cooler and rooftop repairs, etc.).
Climbs ladders or steps to reach objects.
Walks over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces.
Moves debris, dirt, furniture, or other materials.
