Warehouse Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE 

 Our warehouse manager is the strategic planner responsible for directly overseeing the operations at the Lone Prairie Warehouse to ensure that all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed according to schedule. Their duties include preparing schedules for warehouse operators, training new employees on how to use machinery and monitoring compliance with safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Understand all elements of operator workflows, including inventory, purchase orders, equipment inspections, receiving product, tracking processes, packing, and shipping.
• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and receiving. 
• Utilize the ERP system to process the receiving of all goods in a timely manner, while ensuring the accuracy of all information entered.
• Manage shipments & receiving, such as comparing purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists.
• Quote and complete paperwork for inbound and outbound shipments (LTL, PTL, and FTL)
• Print, match, and verify freight & package invoices. Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers to ensure efficient delivery of products.
• Follow and enforce compliance with safety, sanitation, and GMP policies and guidelines.
• Provide training to employees and monitor supervisor performance through regular reviews; actively participate in new hire interviews.
• Monitor general department performance including adherence to product production schedules and quality standards; set production and output goals and assess areas of improvement.
• Report and make recommendations to high-level management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates will generally have the following education, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Typically, a high school diploma, but a college degree is preferred.
• One year of related experience in wholesale, warehousing, or logistics strongly preferred. 
• Five years of experience with standard office technology, including Microsoft Suite products.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
• This position requires strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
• This position requires the ability to think critically
• Ability to enter data into a computer quickly and accurately.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, food service regulations, health regulations and proper sanitation practices.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Good interpersonal relationships and ability to work effectively with a team. 
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Computer skills and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs.
• Ability to comprehend and follow all company policies and procedures, as well as regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
• Experience operating forklifts, or ability to learn
• Ability to work with flexibility in a continuous schedule of day, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Physical Requirements
This job involves physical effort, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, typing, and manipulating objects. Tasks may require handling weights from under 1 lb. to over 60 lbs., with heavier lifting occurring less frequently.
Work is performed while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and bending.

Mental Requirements
This role requires continuous mental and visual attention to monitor production and identify defects.

Working Conditions
Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, heat, cold, fumes, noise, and water, though conditions are generally reasonable.

Attendance
Adherence to company attendance standards is expected.

Safety
Compliance with company safety standards is required, including the safe operation of heavy machinery.

FLSA Status
This is a nonexempt position eligible for overtime pay.
