Warehouse Manager - Positive Work Culture

GOALS & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for maintaining smooth operations in the warehouse; ensures all sales orders are completed correctly and timely. 

• Manage Shipping, Receiving, RMA’s, Assembly, Will-calls, stock transfers & stock-forwards.

• Submits staffing requisitions for replacement or temporary staffing needs. 

• Responsible for ensuring all warehouse personnel are cross-trained in all functions in case of short staffing needs. 

• Conducts disciplinary action applying the “progressive discipline” procedure as required. Promptly communicates with Depot Manager and/or Human Resources all employee relations issues before they escalate.  Refers all documentation of any grievance issues to HR for review.

• Responsible for ensuring compliance to all health, safety and security standards in the warehouse. Coordinates regular training on safe systems of work and procedures, including safety instructions on all power machines and equipment.

• Continually strives to improve inventory management; implement better controls to account for missing products.

• Responsible for maintaining efficient organization and cleanliness of warehouse, to include regular and proper maintenance of forklifts and other equipment.

• Promotes prevention of job-related injuries, fosters “Safety First” at all times!  Ensures warehouse personnel including temporary staff are provided proper Safety induction in case of injury, fire, or emergency.

• Serves as liaison between management and staff by attending to problems, issues, responding to questions, and instructions from all other departments (e.g., sales, admin and HR).

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

• Trains and supervises warehouse personnel. Updates them of current issues, procedures and operational needs.

• Conducts daily and weekly meetings to communicate any issues, plan of action, and problem resolution.

• Manages prevention of job-related injuries; fosters safety awareness at all times.  Submits Work injury reports as required.

• Follows up on weekly basis that will calls are being picked up.  If will calls are not being picked up, makes a report and sends it to the sales department.

• Handles assembly of parts - riveting, stamping, packaging

• Handles Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) – counts parts and submits forms when product is returned.

• Assists with pulling and packaging customer orders as necessary, including loading and unloading of trucks.

• Communicates with drivers of UPS, trucks, and reps, as necessary.

• Conducts random checks for PPE compliance. 

• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Good computer skills.  

Accurate and detail oriented.  Able to work independently and manage effectively.

Must have proven ability to lead and direct people.

Able to communicate effectively, whether verbally or in written form.

Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to engage with management and staff at all levels.
