Warehouse Shipping Clerk - Collaborative Environment

We are seeking a Warehouse Shipping Clerk to become an integral part of our team! You will help coordinate incoming and outgoing shipment activities and locate product with the Stand up Reach & Sit Down forklift. 

Our client incorporated in 1987 and has become a leader in commercial office and residential furniture known for their value. They market under 9 brands and operates 5 warehouses within the United States and Canada. 

We are seeking a Shipping Clerk Forklift Operator to become an integral part of our team! You will help coordinate incoming and outgoing shipment activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, address, stamp, and ship merchandise or material
• Unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material
• Arrange appropriate transportation of products
• Assist customers with shipping inquiries
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Job description

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm w/a 45-minute lunch. 38.75 hours a week to start, + OT when available.

Pay rate: Starting at $19.00/hr.to $20.00/hr- DOE (temp-to-hire)

Summary Pulls, prepares and stages product, prepares orders and loads product for shipping by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares orders for shipment using pick sheets.
• Uses a RF Scanner to pick product from inventory racks and completes back orders as needed.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments are accurate and meet specifications.
• Operates a forklift, reach truck and/or pallet rider to pull, stage and load product.
• Assists with will call orders as needed.
• Maintains safe working conditions, follows and executes company safety plan and policies.
• Fosters and maintains clean work area.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 1 year experience operating a forklift and experience as a Shipping Clerk, shipping & Receiving or similar role.
• Good math skills
• Knowledge of Inventory software and data entry skills
• Prepare, weigh and scheduled shipments and prepare paperwork
• Forklift certified: Sit Down Truck, Stand Up Truck, and Pallet Truck Certifications.
• Must speak fluent English
• Ability to speak fluent Spanish a plus.
• Position requires frequently lifting and/or moving, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
