Job Description - Wargaming Analyst

 


Job purpose


WBSI is seeking qualified candidates to deliver education, training, planning, advising, research, and wargame facilitation services across various knowledge domains. These domains encompass wargaming, threat capabilities, joint warfighting, multimedia, and information technology services for the Marine Corps University (MCU).



Duties and responsibilities



  • The Wargaming Analyst shall possess the capability to provide expert instruction on wargaming theory, educational wargaming techniques, and on wargame facilitation.

  • The Analyst shall have the ability to both develop curriculum and instruct training-related tasks.

  • In order to mentor Marines, Sailors, other service members, Interagency, and International Military Officers or create, revise, and update these materials, the Wargaming Analyst requires a foundational knowledge of wargaming concepts and associated skills.

  • The Wargaming Analyst shall possess the capability to participate in or conduct wargaming program assessments or assessment activities.

  • The candidate shall possess the capability to deliver periods of instruction using MCU’s Wargaming training program curriculum, supplemental materials, and products.

  • The Wargaming Analyst shall provide training curriculum development and maintenance services for Faculty Development (FACDEV) on Wargaming and Wargame Facilitation.

  • The Wargaming Analyst shall provide training curriculum development and maintenance services for participant training in various Tabletop Wargames.

  • The Wargaming Analyst shall provide training curriculum development and maintenance services for participant training in various Computer Wargames.

  • Content development and delivery may involve the creation of new material or the revision and updating of existing material.



Qualifications and Experience



  • The Wargaming Analyst shall possess significant first-hand experience in playing and facilitating a combination of traditional board wargames and computer wargames.

  • The Wargaming Analyst is required to have 5-12 years experience but 15-25 years is preferred.



Education



  • Wargaming Analysts shall at a minimum possess a Bachelor’s degree

  • A Master’s degree in Strategic Studies, Military Studies, National Security, International Relations, or other related field is preferred.

  • A Marine Corps background that includes resident or non-resident PME courses at an Intermediate Level School (ILS) (Command & Staff College equivalent) is preferred, but not required.



Clearance:



  • Secret security clearance is required.
