4200 Gardner Ave., Kansas City, MO 64120

Monday Through Friday 8am - 5pm

Utilizes hands-on automotive technician training and knowledge to provide exceptional customer service as an automotive Warranty Technician for a growing, fast-paced auto salvage company that distributes remanufactured, used, OEM, and aftermarket auto parts to wholesale distributors and end users. Handles claims and warranty work and provides knowledge-based troubleshooting through previous hands-on experience as an ASE Certified mechanic.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions 

1. Customer Service – Internal & External

• Respond to customers’ concerns regarding defective parts and products by phone and email.
• Keep customers up to date on the work progress of their claims.
• Communicate with repair facilities, vendors, and customers via phone, email, and IM to process claims.
• Utilizing specific customer and vendor guides to meet each of their respective needs.
• Developing relationships with vendors’ warranty teams.

2. Technician

• Assists automotive repair facilities in diagnosing, repairing, or replacing drive train components via digital and personal communications utilizing subject matter expertise from hands-on experience and ASE Certification.

3. Administrative

• Review warranty part(s) and supporting documentation for compliance with published policies and procedures.
• Document and report findings, and debit claims if non-compliance is confirmed.
• Gather complaints, cause, and correction information and all other facts pertinent to the repair.
• Request repair orders and other supporting documentation as needed.
• Supporting the company’s existing warranty team to initiate, process, and close warranty claims. in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Warranty submission.
• Negotiating and paying warranty claims once complete.
• Parts ordering for both retail and internal needs.
• Light customer service writing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• ASE Certification required.
• Five (5) years of Automotive drive-train mechanic experience is required.
• Bilingual (Spanish) language ability preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required with a commitment to act with an elevated level of professionalism during all transactions both internally and externally.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Word, All-data, Mitchel and Outlook with the aptitude to learn new systems and software.
• Must be able to work effectively alone or with others in a team environment.
• Must be able to work collaboratively across functions. Share expertise with others.
• Must be a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and schedules related to essential functions described above.
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

• Occasionally lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 10 lbs.
• Expected Work Hours – 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday.
• Ability to work occasional overtime as needed as determined by the employee’s supervisor.
