Wash Bay Associate

 To manage and direct work activities of drivers and coordinate flow of goods to our retail stores while efficiently, safely, and legally for our transportation operation and or hire business. To serve our customers efficiently and consistently while reducing the cost of deliveries through proper driver and equipment assignments and effective routing inbound and outbound loads. Reduce road costs through innovate routing decisions which directly affect transportation revenue lines.

JOB DUTIES:

• Call stores to notify them of delivery schedule changes, delays, early arrivals, or any conflicts with accurate scheduling of deliveries


• Perform switchboard like duties answering phone calls on 5 different incoming lines, answering questions, taking messages, or forwarding calls to the appropriate individuals


• Dispatch available grocery/perishable loads and maintain delivery logs for all delivery tickets and outbound/inbound loads as drivers return with delivery tickets to ensure accurate flow of dispatch operations to insure on time arrivals and departures


• Driver Scheduling/ Daily planning to complete Workload and assign Drivers to Routes.


• Assist drivers when needed


• Set up salvage pick-ups when needed


• Complete any required reports assigned


• Use of the Transportation Systems to effectively manage all aspects of work responsibilities including Prospero, Samsara, Manhattan reports, Yard Management and WMS.


• Perform and complete all order routing and setup duties and activities to meet all corresponding time for department start-ups and dispatch times


• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.


• Shift hours are tailored to departmental needs and must be available for adjusted schedules due to Holidays, requested Days off and special activities.
