Wastewater Operator

The Probst Group is excited to announce an opportunity within our Tech Services Team. We are seeking a Wastewater Operator to help support our customers and enhance the operation of our industrial wastewater treatment system in Littlefield, TX.

The Wastewater Operator will assist in supporting our customers and organization in the operation of our industrial wastewater treatment system. This role will involve close collaboration with clients, federal and state regulatory agencies, as well as various departments within Probst.

The Wastewater Operator plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations and preventative maintenance of the facility. In addition to job-related tasks as assigned by management, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Wastewater Operation Focus:

• Participate in Weekly Level 10 Meetings
• Collect wastewater samples for process monitoring and compliance requirements 
• Operate equipment, read gauges, meters, and record data
• Perform fundamental basic laboratory tasks with minimal supervision
• Assist with maintenance, repairs, and tasks as needed
• Perform basic preventive maintenance activities with minimal supervision
• Effectively utilize the MaintainX CMMS system for preventive maintenance tasks
• Execute the task list provided by the site lead or manager
• Accurately enter data into the data log Excel spreadsheet
• Safely handle chemicals and adjust dosing per supervisor direction; Ability to understand and follow Safety Data Sheets
• Attend all H&S trainings and adhere to the H&S Program
• Safely operate and learn power tools, forklifts, and scissor lifts under supervision
• Conduct daily walkthroughs of the facility, documentation, complete checklists, and escalate concerns and issues as needed.
• Ability to utilize the SCADA system and make fundamental adjustments
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on-call
• Valid driver’s license
• Good problem-solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Preferred Experiences for the Wastewater Operator:

• Previous experience in maintaining industrial equipment
• Previous experience operating a skid steer and a forklift
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
• 1+ years of experience in wastewater
• Hands-on experience with blowers, pumps, motors, and actuated valves, among others
• Ability to obtain Operator Certifications as specified by the local state requirements
