Job Description - Water Conditioning Equipment Technician

Better Chemistry for a Better Future.
Passionate about helping people get clean, safe water?
At Guardian Chemicals, we believe we can create a better future for our communities, customers, and employees, by doing chemistry better. For over 60 years, we’ve been developing safer, more efficient, and more environmentally responsible solutions, and applying them with the best people and technology in the industry.

Based in Sturgeon County, Alberta, Guardian provides direct chemical, equipment, and specialized service technologists to a large variety of primary and secondary industries throughout Canada, the USA, and internationally.  Guardian currently has three main divisions: industrial, water treatment, and wood products.
We’re looking for a hands-on, mechanically skilled technician to be part of our growing team in Orlando, FL. In this role, you’ll be in the field—installing, servicing, and maintaining water treatment systems for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

What You’ll Do
  • Install water treatment systems, including water softeners, carbon filters, sediment filters, reverse osmosis systems, water quality controllers and chemical feed pumps in residential homes as well as commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Perform diagnostic checks and repairs on water conditioning equipment systems to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Conduct on-site water quality tests and recommend appropriate actions based on results and customer needs.
  • Educate customers on system usage, maintenance, and benefits with clear and respectful communication.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance such as cartridge replacements, softener salt checks, and filter cleanings.
  • Troubleshoot system issues such as pressure problems, leaks, and quality concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols, industry regulations, and company standards at all times.
  • Document service visits accurately and communicate effectively with the customer support team.

What You Bring
  • Proven experience installing, troubleshooting, and servicing water treatment equipment or similar mechanical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic plumbing skills (pipe cutting, valve installation, commissioning).
  • Problem-solving ability and the confidence to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in tight spaces, and use ladders/stairs.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to meet all safety requirements (drug/alcohol testing, respirator fit if needed).

Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Make a difference – Every installation or service call you complete helps improve water quality and protect resources.
  • Independence in the field – Manage your day and travel to customer sites with support from our technical team.
  • Grow your skills – Get access to hands-on technical and commercial training to expand your career potential.
  • Be rewarded for results – Competitive base salary, health insurance program, 401k, with contribution matching, Bonus plan and the opportunity to work with an industry leader in the chemical industry.
  • Join a values-driven team – We live by our core values every day:
    • Seek Understanding – Ask, listen, absorb
    • Growth Mindset – Always looking to develop
    • Initiative – Take the first step, go beyond
    • Grit – Perseverance through determination
    • Courage – Try what scares you, trust those around you, say what matters
    • Elevate Others – Create heroes in those around you

This is a field-based role serving the Orlando, FL region, with occasional visits to the Guardian office in Sturgeon County near Edmonton (AB, Canada).
