Position Summary
In your role as the Water Department Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for the design, operation, and continuous improvement of Samsung Austin Semiconductor's ultra-pure water (UPW) and industrial water treatment (IWT) systems. You'll lead safety-focused initiatives, ensuring that all water handling processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations as well as Samsung’s internal EHS standards. By overseeing capital and capacity projects, you'll participates in equipment selection, system layout, and vendor negotiations to expand water capacity. Lean principles are applied to equipment‑ and part‑management to reduce waste, increase reliability, and improve overall water‑usage efficiency.Role and Responsibilities
Here's what you'll be responsible for:
Providing leadership and participating in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance.
Overseeing capital and capacity projects, including participating in the design and selection of equipment and options for large scale industrial electrical distribution.
Driving improvements in equipment and part management, employing lean principles effectively.
Serving as an ideal representative of the department and site to external groups and agencies.
Supporting operations teams responsible for monitoring the site and responding to FMCS alarms; and supporting maintenance teams responsible for equipment planned and unplanned maintenance.
Ensuring compliance to local, state, and national codes and compliance requirements.
Developing and managing annual expense budgets.
Supporting commercial negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.
Leading the development of safety and quality projects to improve performance and reliability of electrical equipment.
Continually driving group culture toward greater learning, development, and overall job satisfaction.
Safety Leadership:
Leading engineering and contractor/vendor forums to maintain a collaborative culture of proactive safety actions and protocols; and Driving increasing knowledge and competencies of employees to support safety innovation.
Achieve World Class Results:
Anticipate future needs and guide the organization towards effective strategies.
Advance and support Facilities strategies and initiatives for improved safety, reliability, and performance.
Provide innovative and forward-thinking to drive industry-leading strategies.
High Level Representation:
Providing effective representation of the department and the site for commercial and strategic considerations with current and prospective vendors and contractors.
Collaborating and driving understanding and strategy with all Samsung fabs globally (Korea, China).
Ensure Compliance:
Ensuring all operations, maintenance, training, and documentation meet standards of OSHA and local agencies.
Partnering and collaborating with the site Environmental Health & Safety department to maintain robust safety operations.
Employee Development:
Leading a culture of learning and self-improvement.
Sponsoring and promoting programs and a business.
Attract and develop expertise in key areas to support strategic site needs.
Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
The current base salary range for this role is between $188,000 - $244,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
