The Development Authority of the North Country is looking to grow our team with people who are ready to collaborate in building communities and expanding infrastructure to serve the common interests of the North Country by providing technical services, which will enhance economic opportunities in the region and promote the health and well-being of its communities.
The successful candidate will primarily work in and around Jefferson County and must be within 30 minutes of the Village of Carthage or Watertown to respond to call-outs. Employees are assigned a company truck and tools for daily travel from their home to assigned route. One position is available and will be filled at one of the levels noted below based on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary: The Water Quality Operator serves as the Chief Operator/Operator of Record of multiple small water and wastewater systems. The Water Quality Operator works independently, has some contact with customers, and has specifically assigned duties and responsibilities that require licensing and experience.

Minimum Driver’s License: Class D NYS regular operator.
Travel Requirements: Extensive day travel in service area.
Typical Work Schedule: Regularly works Monday through Friday during normal business hours and requires willingness to work a flexible schedule when needed, and rotational weekend and On-Call schedule.
Environmental: (Outdoor environment) Works outdoors with exposure to weather conditions (rain, snow, sun, wind, extreme cold and heat).
