Waumba Land Curriculum Director: Part Time

Purpose Statement: To provide vision, support, pastoral care, and development to the volunteers in Waumba Land.

Reports to: Waumba Land Director

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum

• Plan monthly curriculum meeting, including devotional, decorations, snacks and/or small gift to go with the month’s theme 


• Edit monthly curriculum provided by NPM to ensure developmentally appropriate practice for small group activities.


• Be the vision carrier for the monthly Big Idea and Memory verse (including editing and print monthly Bible Verse image)


• Fill out Curriculum Ordering template before monthly meeting each month 


• Upload curriculum to google drive and Waumba V olunteer Blog each month


• Update Parent Cue App weekly before each Sunday morning


• Place any special curriculum notes in Coaches Notes on Trello by Wednesday each week

Oversee the Waumba Land Curriculum Coordinator LDP

• Weekly 1:1 meeting with LDP - check-in for personal, school, and work life
  


• Oversee implementation of all curriculum prep and help as needed

Administration

• Oversee the Waumba Land birthday mailer process
  
  
  
  • Run report and print monthly address labels for Waumba kids birthdays
  
  
  • Recruit and support a volunteer to assemble and mail
  
  
  • Reorder Birthday mailer supplies as needed
  
  
  
  


• Oversee and maintain Waumba Land hallway needs and room and hall supplies


• Reorder any printed materials as needed (postcards, stickers, brochures, business cards)


• Assemble and replenish First Time Baby gift
  


• Maintain organization of all Waumba storage in the unfinished space, storage closets and curriculum rooms
  
  
  
  • Order new bins as needed and consistently organize and reorganize
  
  
  • Reorder and restock miscellaneous supplies as needed
    
  
  
  
  


• Submit and track maintenance requests as needed to keep the hallway in excellent shape

Weekday Volunteer Team

• Work with Groups Director to continually recruit a full weekday volunteer team (volunteers who check classrooms, breakfast supplies, and do laundry) 


• Communicate with weekday volunteers on a weekly basis for announcements, vision and care


• Work with Logistics and Volunteer Care LDP to maintain relational component -  including having lunch with weekday volunteers and being present on the hallway on Wednesdays while they are volunteering

Sunday Morning Responsibilities

• Greet volunteers and families on the hall during and be available to help with tours, first time families and any emergencies 


• Be available to answer any questions that may arise about the current Sunday’s curriculum on the hall and work with LDP to fulfill needs as they arise 


• Be available to Large Group teams on Sundays as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in weekly Waumba Land, Children’s Ministry, and Athens Church staff meetings 


• Meet with 1:1 with Waumba Land Director monthly 


• Maintain close relationships with other Waumba Land staff 


• Committed to participating and growing as an example who is above reproach  in the “Four Things”: Giving, Serving, Connecting and Inviting.

Miscellaneous

• A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with Athens Church’s mission, vision, values and culture shaping behaviors.


• Lead and attend Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, Nights of Worship, staff retreats, and events

Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal skills


• A passion for developing spiritual development in volunteers


• Experience in leading volunteer and staff teams


• Strong communication skills


• Confidence in guiding competent volunteers


• Belief in and (preferably) experience with the Athens Church mission and values. 

Work Schedule:

• 20/hrs week


• Sunday-Thursday


• Christmas Eve, Good Friday and Easter


• Nights of Worship


• Staff Retreats and events
