Job Summary
This position serves as a key banking and treasury subject matter expert and leadership role within the Washington Education Association (WEA). It blends strong treasury and accounting expertise with an Information Technology (IT) and systems focus, including analytical and technical knowledge of databases, systems, and membership processes.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical and business process coordination across Washington state for the collection and disbursement of WEA membership dues, membership updates, and membership reporting. This position also plays a key role in the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of WEA-related systems.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with statewide membership processors to ensure dues are collected, reconciled, and disbursed accurately and in a timely manner each month.
- Apply strong expertise in designing and implementing new or updated processes utilizing technology to streamline workflows, reduce risk of error, and strengthen security controls.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of treasury and accounting processes and controls related to dues collection and processing.
- Collaborate with the National Education Association (NEA) and cross-functional teams to ensure dues collection systems and processes are properly maintained and enhanced as needed. Research, analyze, and submit technical cases to NEA for corrections or system improvements, and complete system testing prior to production deployment.
- Provide periodic process and technical training to both new and existing membership processors to ensure consistent knowledge and understanding across the organization.
- Coordinate with WEA-PAC (Political Action Committee) Accounting Specialist to ensure PAC contributions comply with regulatory and system requirements.
- Provide input and support for electronic funds transfer (EFT) and recurring credit card processing workflows.
- Manage membership enrollment and resignation processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in treasury and/or banking operations, including lockbox processes and the design and development of cash flow workflows to support efficient intake, distribution, and reconciliation of funds.
- Experience as a data analyst, with demonstrated proficiency working with data systems and producing analysis and reporting using business intelligence and/or reporting tools such as Cognos, Crystal Reports, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Strong IT background with the ability to support and coach others on data management practices, sensitive data handling protocols, and the development of tools to identify and address data and reporting errors.
- Demonstrated project management experience leading or supporting major system implementations or significant system changes.
- Experience developing and maintaining system documentation, user guides, and procedural materials.
- Experience designing and delivering user training programs.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles to support operational and financial business processes.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, as well as with external stakeholders including auditors, financial institutions, and school districts.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure coordinated and timely completion of work.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the State of Washington.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with merchant and/or gateway payment processing systems for EFT and credit card transactions.
- Experience using project management software and tools.
- Experience working with Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) systems, NGP Voter Activation Network (VAN), and Catalist.
