Weblogic/OEM Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced WebLogic/OEM Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in WebLogic Server 10.3.6 and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12.1, with a strong background in middleware support, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex enterprise environments.

Must live in proximity to Rockville, MD.

• Administer, configure, and manage Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.6 domains across development, testing, and production environments.


• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12.1 for monitoring and managing middleware and application components.


• Perform regular middleware platform maintenance, including patching, backups, and performance tuning.


• Provide Tier 2/3 middleware support, diagnosing and resolving issues related to application servers, deployments, and integrated services.


• Monitor middleware environments using OEM, analyzing logs and metrics to ensure high availability and performance.


• Automate routine administration tasks using scripting (Shell, WLST, etc.).


• Support deployment activities, including application rollouts and rollback procedures.


• Work with application development and DBA teams to troubleshoot integration and performance issues.


• Maintain and update documentation on middleware configurations, procedures, and policies.

• 5+ years of experience in WebLogic Server administration (preferably 10.3.6).


• 3+ years of experience working with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12.1.


• Strong knowledge of J2EE architecture, application deployment lifecycle, and performance tuning.


• Experience with middleware diagnostics, log analysis, and root cause investigation.


• Proficiency in scripting languages such as WLST, Shell, or Python for automation and troubleshooting.


• Familiarity with SSL configuration, JDBC, JMS, and datasource management.


• Understanding of high-availability configurations, clustering, and load balancing.


• Experience with Linux/UNIX environments.


• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Oracle WebLogic Certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional).


• Experience with other middleware technologies (e.g., Apache, Tomcat, Oracle Fusion Middleware).


• Exposure to CI/CD tools and practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
