Website Engineer

Antithesis is looking for an in-office employee to help improve and maintain our marketing and documentation websites.

Our website is statically built with Eleventy (11ty) and has a significant amount of customization, ranging from build-related tasks to web design implementation. In the future, we may add a back-end component, but for now, it consists of classic static HTML/CSS pages with minimal JavaScript.

As a Website Engineer, you will work closely with the Product Design Director to deliver features requested by the marketing lead and documentation creators.

Requirements

• Experience implementing design mocks in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Experience building static websites

• Understanding of how the internet and browsers work

• At least 4 years of experience improving and maintaining websites

• Great attention to detail

• A portfolio website or a list of links to projects you’ve worked on

Bonus Points

• Experience with different build tools

• Experience with testing libraries like Playwright

• Experience building SPAs with a frontend framework (React, Vue, Svelte, Solid, etc.)

• Experience in back-end development (Node.js, Python, PHP, etc.)

• Experience with Terraform

• Experience creating and shipping a software package (e.g., an npm library)

• Experience optimizing web pages for performance

• Search engine optimization (SEO) experience

• Advanced CSS/JS skills (e.g., 3D, WebGL, visual effects)

• Experience creating, scaling, and supporting design systems

Examples of possible tasks:

• improve broken link tests and reports

• move internal documentation to the same engine as external documentation

• perform SEO audit with an online tool and fix all the possible issues

• refactor and reorganize all the possible website sections

• modify main website menu according to new design mocks

• create categories and tags for blog posts

• improve search experience for docs and website articles according to the feedback by users

• improve website building steps according to feedback from our editors and designers
