Job Description - Weekend Baylor Nurse (LPN)

Position Summary:
Are you an LPN who thrives on making a real difference in the lives of residents? Under the direction of an RN, you’ll provide compassionate, individualized care to elderly and acutely ill residents, while using your clinical expertise to enhance their comfort, wellness, and quality of life. You’ll integrate your technical skills and knowledge to collaborate with the healthcare team in preventing illness, maintaining wellness, and providing support to residents and their families.

What’s In It For You:

  • Competitive Pay & Benefits: We reward hard work and dedication. We offer the whole package! Health, dental, vision, vacation time, sick time, bereavement pay, a personal holiday, bonusing, short and long term disability, 401K, FSA and HSA options, life insurance (just because!) and so much more!
  • Growth Opportunities: We support your professional development and encourage continued learning.
  • Supportive Team Environment: You’ll never feel alone. Our team works together to ensure the best care for our residents.
  • Work-Life Balance: We value your time both on and off the clock.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Care & Collaboration: Provide direct care and assist with treatments, ensuring that you stay within your scope of practice and competency. You’ll work closely with an RN, initiating the SBAR process to ensure assessments and recommendations are top-notch.
  • Resident Care & Planning: Participate in resident evaluations and care planning activities. Revise and update care plans as needed, while coordinating care and communicating changes to the healthcare team and families.
  • Medication & Treatment Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments while maintaining safety and accuracy. You’ll also oversee Medication Aides/Techs in their duties and ensure all medication orders are transcribed and implemented accurately.
  • Communication is Key: Keep everyone on the same page – communicate effectively with physicians, family members, and the healthcare team. Notify physicians of automatic stop orders, address adverse reactions, and maintain accurate narcotic records.
  • Documentation & Compliance: You’ll be responsible for documenting all care provided, resident status updates, and medication administration in compliance with clinical guidelines, state and federal regulations.
  • Emergency Assistance: Be ready to step in during emergencies – whether it’s assisting with CPR or collaborating with other medical professionals to ensure prompt and effective care.
  • Consultation & Discharge Support: Assist with consultations, follow up on recommendations, and participate in the discharge process. You’ll also handle clinical admission paperwork for new residents.

What We’re Looking For:

  • LPN License in Idaho.
  • Compassionate Heart: You genuinely care for residents, treating them with respect and empathy.
  • Team Player: You communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team to provide the best care possible.
  • Clinical Knowledge: You are confident in your ability to administer medications, document care, and handle emergency situations efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Your focus on documentation, medication management, and patient care ensures everything is handled accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Punctual & Reliable: You show up for your shifts, ready to make an impact.

Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Experience in long-term care or geriatric care.
  • Ability to lead a team and mentor Medication Aides/Techs.
  • CPR certification (we’ll also help you keep it current).
