Part-Time Weekend Caregiver – Sunnyside, Queens, NY 

A family in Queens, NY 11104 is seeking a compassionate and reliable weekend caregiver for their two children, ages 7 and 5. The oldest child has Autism Spectrum Disorder and benefits from structured support and guidance.  This role requires hiring and onboarding through Community Mainstreaming Associates (CMA) as part of OPWDD-funded respite services. This family has a vaccination policy, which will be discussed directly with the candidate. 

Schedule:

• Saturdays and Sundays (full-day support); potential for extra evening and overnight hours, which would be planned ahead of time


• Typical hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible)

Family Specifications:

• Smoke-free home


• Family has one dog

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive care for two children, including support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder


• Transport children to and from activities such as music and swim classes, nearby parks/playspaces (expenses reimbursed)


• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation


• Comfortable working in a home with a dog


• Willing to be hired and onboarded through an agency called Community Mainstreaming (CMA) (will be asked to provide a resume, references, fingerprints and participate in online training)

Compensation:

• $23-25 per hour (commensurate with experience)
