Description

The Manufacturing Team Leader position is responsible for the safety and productivity of all employees on the production team. Additionally, the Team Leader position is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters. 

Requirements

  Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and desire for quality
  • A team-oriented personality
  • Ability to communicate in English; Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
  • 1 year of factory or warehouse related experience in packaging or manufacturing.
  • Proficient with modern business systems including MS Office, Email and general ERP systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide shift-focused supervision to the assigned team.
  • Ensure the safety and productivity of the production team.
  • Enforce all safety and processing procedures.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with assigned team to routinely assure that all understand the day’s production schedule, key issues, and challenges.
  • Enable effective communication between management and operators.
  • Train new employees and coach existing employees.
  • Fully cross trained in all Production Processes
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
  • Facilitates consist 5S + Safety Team Member and Work Center Group expectations, fosters all lean Tools and Concepts to persistently promote continuous improvements
  • Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues.
  • Assure daily documentation regarding production, waste, maintenance issues, safety issues, employee issues and any other incidents. Report to Management.
  • Keep work environment clean, safe and positive.
  • Keep an open and honest communication flow with Production Supervisor and Safety Manager.
  • Provide supervision to the production of products assuring the implementation and monitoring of good manufacturing practices, quality and safety standards.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises but does not have any direct reports.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching for the duration of the shift. Use hand to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. May be exposed to weather temperature conditions prevalent at the time.

  • Annual performance goal targets established between the supervisor and employee.
