Job Description - Welcome Center Representative



Full-time, Part-time


Description

 The Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC) is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to be the first point of contact for members and guests. This role ensures a welcoming and professional environment by greeting visitors, answering inquiries, processing registrations, and supporting overall front desk operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, prior customer service experience, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting, all while upholding the mission and values of the AYCC. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet the public, answer the telephone, and provide accurate program information in a positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful manner.  
  • Process visitor transactions, membership registrations & renewals. Verify active membership upon member’s arrival. Monitor member facility access. 
  • Provide facility tours to prospective members, donors, and other guests.
  • Control the vestibule and lobby areas by providing assistance to patrons and directing children as needed. 
  • Monitor the cameras for any unusual behaviors or activities. Assist and direct members in emergency situations.
  • Reconcile cash, checks, and credit card swipes to sales reports at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain current facility schedules and registration information (pools, classes, Adventure Playland) at Welcome Center. 
  • Keep the Welcome Center and AYCC Store neat, clean, and organized.
  • File paperwork and perform data entry as needed.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships with members, patrons, and staff members. 

Requirements

 KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years related experience in Customer Service.
  • Knowledge of computer and data systems and reporting; Proficient in MS Office Suite and computer software programs.

 SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate pleasantly with a variety of people; children and adults.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible with work assignments
  • Detail orientation
  • Understand, interpret, and articulate the AYCC’s mission and programs.
  • Deadline oriented

WORK SCEHDULE:
Daytime, evening, and weekend work hours. Schedules will vary.
Full time and part time positions available 


Salary Description

$15.25 per hour
