Weld Inspector

Description

Chief Fabrication is seeking a Weld Inspector to join the Chief team. This position performs quality inspections on production materials in accordance to required specifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform welder performance qualification tests.
• Prepares for necessary weld operations through proper machine and jig setups. Will perform first piece approval using appropriate quality control tools.
• Complete weld examinations of both destructive and non-destructive and make sure welds meet customer specs.
• Inspects nearly completed units in the final line, tapes, and writes up all defects or shortages requiring correction. Informs final department supervisor or designated leads of noted corrections and follows up to ensure completion.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Production Control departments to ensure optional and standard features and quality standards are communicated to production.

Education:

• High School Diploma, or GED preferred. 
• CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) credential preferred or willing to obtain. 

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• Knowledge of welding processes and key plans
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings
• 1-3 years manufacturing experience preferred
• 1-2 years of welding experience preferred
• CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) credential preferred or willing to obtain

Shift:

• 1st Shift – 6:00am – 2:30pm
