We are seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join a client of ours in Franklin Park, IL. They are a custom innovator in the manufacturing/engineering space. This is a crucial rule in ensuring all products are meeting quality standards and specifications.
6-month contract to hire
First Shift: 6am-2:30pm + OT (if desired)
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that products meet quality standards by managing quality control procedures in line with ASME code for pressure vessels and ISO9001 quality system requirements.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with ASME regulations, enforcing quality standards, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance departmental performance and reduce costs.
- Responsible for documenting and consolidating product verification and validation reports/records for master file per ASME/QMS requirements and where applicable, attain corresponding sign-off from designated Authorized Inspector (A.I.)
- Participate as directed, in the internal and external audit program (ASME, QMS, suppliers, customers) for continuous accreditation and compliance.
- Participate as requested in the Customer Complaint and Root Cause Analysis review/investigation process.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of Quality experience in manufacturing environments
- Experience reading, interpreting, and reviewing, engineering drawings and GD&T, understanding the application of engineering mechanical protocols and regulations, engineering calculations, and specifications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio, etc.)
- CWI (Certified Welder Inspector) accreditation or AWS (American Welding Association) would be a HUGE plus
- Experience in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment – plus
