Welder
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Job Status: Full-Time
Schedule: M-Th – 6am – 4:30pm, overtime as requested on Fridays.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Welder Operator fabricates and assembles metal structures and equipment through the use of welding tools. The goal of the welding department is to maintain a safe work environment and produce quality parts as efficiently as possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
· Set up welding equipment and select the appropriate welding method based on materials being used.
· Operate welding equipment safely and effectively.
· Monitor the welding process and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
· Perform inspections and document as required.
· Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
· Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
· Maintain a neat and clean work area.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: 2-year technical degree in welding or equivalent experience.
Experience: 1-3 years welding in a Metal fabrication manufacturing environment, preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers.
Certificates & Licenses: N/A
Other Requirements:
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints
· Proficient in MIG welding
· Willingness to receive hoist operation certification
· Read measurement tools: tape measure, calipers, angle finders, etc.
· Tools - pallet jack, electric and pneumatic grinder, hand tools; hammer, pry bar, scraper
