Welder

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Follow manufacturing methods to perform welding tasks in a safe manner under the direction of the supervisor, group leader or experienced associates in the area.  

• As required by the manufacturing process, will operate manual grinding equipment. 

• Performs visual and in-process inspections in accordance with API and ISO quality specifications.  

• Helps facilitate the team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving welding problems that enhance through-put within the work team. 

• Responsible for supporting the team and team's objectives.  

• Responsible for training team members.  

• Required to pass periodic welding tests and qualifications in compliance with qualification procedures. 

• Perform general clean up to keep work area clean and organized. 

• Follows Company’s Compliance requirements. 

• Maintains and improves the quality management system. 

• Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: 

• Regardless of other duties, the Welding operator has a responsibility to follow LUFKIN production, safety, and quality procedures 

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Education and Training:  High school or as deemed sufficient by management 

• Technical Requirements:  ability to read and interpret process instructions (WPS, PQR); use of ERP system; basic computer skills; ability to use of general hand tools, cutting torch, air tools and precision measuring equipment; ability to operate material moving equipment –overhead crane. 

• Experience:  At least 2 years work experience in the area, or as deemed sufficient by management
