Shifts Available:

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (occasional overtime before/after hours or Saturday)
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. (training on 1st shift required; occasional Friday overtime)

We are currently seeking Experienced Welders to join our team on 1st and 2nd shift.

Job Summary

As a Welder at SMT, you will layout, fit, and weld metal components to specifications to create sub-assemblies and final products. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, work independently, and maintain high quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret complex blueprints and sketches to determine layout and welding processes.
   
• Set up and operate welding, grinding, and cutting equipment.
   
• Prepare and assemble parts and sub-assemblies according to specifications.
   
• Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards.
   
• Maintain accurate production records and paperwork.
   
• Keep a clean and safe work environment.
   
• Perform other duties as assigned.
   

Requirements

Education & Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
   
• Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
   

Skills & Abilities

• Proficient in reading complex blueprints and performing detailed math calculations.
   
• Strong knowledge of welding and grinding tools, including calipers and micrometers.
   
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
   
• Must pass a respiratory medical evaluation, respirator training, and fit test before first day.
   

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to manufacturing elements such as noise, fumes, heat, and dust.
   
• Use of personal protective equipment is required (weld shield/helmet, etc.).
   

Supervision & Decision-Making

• No direct supervision responsibilities.
   
• Requires moderate independent judgment to solve operational problems within company policies.
