Position Summary:

Best Equipment Company is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you’ll work on heavy-duty municipal and environmental equipment such as trash trucks, hydrovacs, and street sweepers. Responsibilities include welding, custom fabrication, and equipment repair using MIG, TIG, and stick methods. Ideal candidates will have experience with heavy equipment, strong fabrication skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on steel and aluminum components related to heavy-duty municipal and environmental equipment.


• Repair structural components on equipment such as refuse trucks, hydrovacs, sweepers, etc... ensuring functionality and safety.


• Operate cutting tools (plasma cutters, torches, saws) and forming tools (brake press, shear, rollers) as needed for fabrication tasks.


• Conduct inspections on welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.


• Collaborate with technicians to determine fabrication or welding needs during repair or upfitting.


• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to all company safety protocols


• Document work performed in repair orders or job logs accurately and promptly.
  

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years experience in welding and metal fabrication, preferably with heavy-duty or municipal equipment.


• Proficient in MIG welding; TIG and stick welding experience a plus.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.


• Experience using fabrication tools such as grinders, saws, torches, and drill presses.


• Strong understanding of metal properties and welding techniques for both repair and custom fabrication.
  

Physical Demands and Work Environment

To be successful in this role, you may need to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders or equipment. Vision and hearing must be sufficient to identify equipment issues and ensure safety. The position involves exposure to loud noise, odors, dust, heat, cold, and vibration. You may have to tolerate temperature fluctuations and work in various weather conditions.
