JOB SUMMARY
As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding a variety of material thicknesses, various joint configurations, and positions. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position is based in Chattanooga, TN.

 Shift: Mon-Thurs 5 pm-3:30 am. Friday 3:00 pm-11:30 pm

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 1 year of welding experience or training.
• Able to read tape measures and blueprints. Able to properly operate welding equipment. Must be trained in applicable SOPs and work instructions.
• Welding machine, cutting torch, brush, pad, buffer, grinder, overhead crane, ratchet straps, rubber hammer, tape measure. 
• Must have or achieve welding certification. Ability to obtain forklift certification.

• Reference the blueprint and confer with the Lead person to determine job requirements.
• Gather necessary materials and perform layout per specifications.
• Set up the welding machine and adjust settings.
• Operate welding gun to weld steel, aluminum, copper, etc., pieces together.
• Visually examine welds for adherence to quality standards; reweld defective joints and remove surplus slag, flux, and spatter using a brush, pad, buffer, and/or grinder.
• Operate cutting torch and manual plasma cutter as needed.
• Apply the weld stencil and notify the Lead person or Inspector when the product is ready for inspection.
• Perform ongoing housekeeping duties to keep the work area clear of scrap and debris.
