Requirements

Position Summary:

The Welding Associate is an integral part of the Swagelok solution. They leverage highly detailed and precise welding techniques for custom fabrication projects. They will utilize blueprints and CAD drawings, collaborate with engineers, and execute plans to satisfy customer requirements and expectations. 

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

· Read blueprints and/or drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

· Determine the appropriate welding program and method based on requirements

· Set up components for orbital welding according to project specifications

· Weld components using the Swagelok Orbital Welder system

· Perform visual examination of welds

· Maintain weld logs and filing of projects 

· Operate other equipment to prepare the parts that must be welded

· Align components using calipers, rulers, etc. as well as clamp pieces

· Obtain and adhere to Swagelok certification program/ policies

· Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety or performance. 

Education:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Vocational Technology degree preferred

· Required to obtain and adhere to Swagelok certification program (requires one separate overnight travel minimum)

Experience:

· 1-3 years prior welding experience required

· Orbital welding or ASME boiler and pressure code experience preferred

· 1-3 years experience reading blueprints

· Intermediate understanding of mathematics (algebra, geometry and trigonometry)

· Knowledge of how to purge & pressurize systems preferred
