Schedule

Monday - Thursday, 10 hour Shift (3:30pm-2:00am)

Position Summary 

The Welding Technician position is a hands-on 2nd shift position that works closely with the Engineering staff to build and test thermal products. Primarily this role provides welding support for aluminum aerospace products (AWS D17.1), secondarily provides support with other manufacturing operations for aerospace products.

· TIG welding of aluminum aerospace products

· Follow established procedures for precision leak/pressure testing, fluid transfer and sealing of aerospace pressure vessels

· Support engineering staff in the design, fabrication, testing and usage of tooling to support manufacturing processes

· Dimensionally inspect deliverable hardware with hand measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges) and portable CMM systems (FARO Arm)

· Using provided documentation complete detailed information to track manufacturing steps and traceability information for deliverable flight hardware

· Use initiative, imagination and knowledge in the fabrication and test of thermal products and support hardware

· Acts to assure product quality and customer satisfaction

· Assists in the development of fabrication and test procedures and methods

· Perform preventive maintenance, as required

· Assists in the development of fabrication and test procedures and methods

· Perform in-process and final inspections, as required


Requirements

· High School diploma or GED required

· Professional TIG welding training/certification or relevant experience

· Previous qualifications to AWS D17.1 standard highly desirable

· Experience in fabrication, brazing, machining, assembly, testing, and basic electricity is highly desirable

· Must be a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15? (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) due to ITAR restrictions
