Wellfield Maintenance Tech

Summary

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, structures, and pipe in and around company well field by performing the following duties. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment used in and around well field.
• May be asked to listen for unusual sounds from well field machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery used in well field. 
• Installs and repairs broken pipe, casing, and or any related well field equipment.
• Will lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe system and any related equipment in or around well field. Will repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and all other related well field equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment. 
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as drills or other machinery used to repair other machinery in and around well field. 
• Will operate butt- fusing machine used in and around well field.
• Will repair structures used in and around well field. 
• Other duties may be assigned.

Employee must have the ability and willingness to work up to a 12 hour shift outdoors, must be willing to work overtime when required and approved by Superintendent, and must have the ability and willingness to work alternating day and night shifts.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED). Related experience and/or training equivalent to combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.  
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:  

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  

Writing Skills:

• Must be able to read and write in the English language to communicate efficiently and effectively in written form.
