Under the direction of the Wellness & Disability Unit Manager (Staff Services Manager I), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA), Health and Wellness Coordinator, independently conducts research, interprets and applies applicable laws, rules, regulations and procedures, manages claim requests, develops and administers training; analyzes and solves difficult technical health, medical and safety personnel matters. The AGPA, Health and Wellness Coordinator, must operate with the highest ethical considerations and abide by the strictest confidentiality standard.

Working Conditions

Telework -

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.

Conflict of Interest -

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

The Finance and Administration Directorate oversees sections managing Cal OES operations including budgeting, fiscal analysis, grants management, human resources, labor relations, staff recruitment, examinations, and organization and professional development. The Directorate is comprised of three sections: Administrative Services, Human Resources and Grants Management.

In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.

Examination Information & Additional Information

Training and Development (T&D) assignments are temporary assignments to provide an employee training and experience to move to a different occupational field. A T&D assignment is a formal agreement between the employee, the current supervisor, and the new supervisor. The duration of agreements can vary in length but shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.
The duration may also be the length of experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications. Please note they are only available to current California State employees who have permanent status.
