Wellness Buyer

Description

The Wellness Buyer provides exceptional customer service and serves as a resource with a general knowledge of products within the Wellness Department. The Wellness Buyer is also responsible for purchasing/placing orders for products, ensuring product dates are unexpired, proper and consistent product tagging, spot-checking special orders, merchandising and other duties as assigned to support Wellness operations. 

• Provides exceptional customer services at all times; has a general wealth of knowledge about Wellness products. 
• Places timely and accurate orders on a regular and consistent basis 
• Develops relationships with suppliers; Negotiates with suppliers for favorable prices, terms, quality, and delivery
• Purchase items following product selection guidelines and strategic plan; aligns purchasing with sales trends and operational needs
• Helps staff troubleshoot pricing, inventory, and POS issues
• Presents difficult or challenging issues related to ordering, product decisions, and vendor management to the Center Store Manager for further follow up in a timely and efficient manner
• Partners with Center Store Manager and General Manager on Wellness initiatives as needed
• Provides product information for promotions and advertising
• Ensures all items are stocked and warehoused appropriately.
• Oversees and ensures organization, cleanliness and logistical flow in warehouse.
• Coordinates with Center Store Manager to provide pricing and tagging support.
• Follows process for receiving new inventory.
• Assists with Special Order follow up.
• Checks dates on all products as they are received and stocked.
• Ensures accurate, up-to-date price labeling (shelf labels) of department items.
• Provides support for cleanliness and safety of all store areas.
• Merchandises inventory and products at direction of Center Store Manager.
• Performs and assists in other tasks in ensure optimal store operations, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience in retail, grocery, or natural products
• Inventory Management or Ordering Experience preferred. 
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team while being able to work independently without constant supervision and direction
• Readily adaptable to evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback
• Excellent organization skills; ability to multi-task and quickly reprioritize responsibilities
• Keen attention to detail and overall condition of products and department
• Proficient computer skills; solid ability to navigate MS Office Suite and place orders through vendor sites
• Must have flexible availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays to align with store needs.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs from floor and carry 50 ft
• Ability to twist, turn, bend, reach and perform repetitive motions
• Due to the structure of the facility, must be able to climb stairs multiple times per day
• Majority of time is spent on the sales floor up to 8 hours, which requires physical activity
